New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center and Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies are seeking nominations for the NMSU Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, which recognizes outstanding achievement in entrepreneurship among alumni representing colleges and disciplines across the NMSU system.

Nominations are open and will close Oct. 15.

The Entrepreneur Hall of Fame honors graduates who have launched successful businesses, introduced innovative entrepreneurial concepts and practices into workplaces, and/or contributed to their regions’ entrepreneurial climates. Each year, the recognition given to one alumnus represents NMSU’s ongoing commitment to developing entrepreneurial thinkers and doers across all disciplines.

Last year’s awardee, Dino Cervantes, was recognized as a pioneer for agriculture in the Mesilla Valley and his dedication to student mentorship at NMSU. Cervantes graduated from NMSU with a bachelor’s degree in business and grew the successful Cervantes Enterprises, Inc., a chile processing facility and a 1,400-acre farming operation that produces chile, cotton, pecans, and alfalfa. Through innovations in leadership and technology, the operation now processes in six minutes what it originally took a day.

Honorees will be recognized this fall.
